YouTube Tuesday - Swimming In A Birdbath With Snorkels

YouTube Tuesday, adopted from Josh at Its Tiger Time, is a day set aside for sharing your favorite video.

Feel free to join in each week and see how creative we bloggers can be.
Each month, Josh will highlight a selected video and present the winner with the ‘YouTube Tuesday’ Award.
If you participate, remember to leave your YouTube Tuesday link at Its Tiger Time as well as all the blogs you visit.

Swimming In A Birdbath is a family video from approximately 1959. What can I say other than this is one of the cutest, most innocent videos you'll ever see.

Cute and you won't see stuff like that around our neighbourhood these days. Dipstick council enforcing fencing around all pools, birdbaths included, because we have a few drownings each year.
Hey, a video from 1959? Did you get old film transferred?

Yes. We entertained ourselves with whatever was handy, even empty cardboard boxes lol.

The swimming mask makes the video. Without it, the video wouldn't be as funny!

Mari Sterling Wilbur said...

Oh yes - we have a bunch of these old home videos. They are so sweet and funny.

Mari Sterling Wilbur said...

No, surely not, Mary.

Thank you. I hope you are well. :D

We projected the old film onto an old projection screen and recorded that image with a modern film camera. Hubby and his brother did it so I'm not up on all particulars. They decided sending the film out to a service was too expensive since they have so many.

Yes, it's great to save old family treasures like this. I also have old Tintype family photos.

This brought back many happy memories of fooling around in a 'pond' in my grandparents home in Hyderabad, India...We're the same all the world over, aren't we?

Mari Sterling Wilbur said...

I bet you had lots of fun at your grandparents. What I love about blogging is that we do find out, like you say, that we are all the same world over!

That's a cute endearing video showing a slice of America that is gone forever. Those where good old days when kids could be kids, gotta love the snorkel :)

I agree. Everything seemed so innocent back then. Maybe it was a myth, maybe true. And yes, the snorkel makes the video! Wouldn't be half as cute without it.
