Magnificent Monday - I Love ........

It's Magnificent Monday again and this week's theme is - "I Love...".
Post about something you love and check out links to other "I Love" posts here.

I love….
belonging to an affectionate, loving family who accepts me without reservation. I love my country and the many freedoms it provides.

But I thought I'd blog about horses. Why? I've loved them, ridden them and shown them since I was a little girl and still do. It runs in the family.

The essential joy of being with horses is that it brings us in contact with the rare elements of grace, beauty, spirit, and fire.  ~Sharon Ralls Lemon

Photography Tips:
Your Camera’s Enemies:

Watch for a future post with details on how to protect your valuable investment in your camera and gear.

Wonderful pics of a beautiful animal. Horses were part of my wife's young life, she had her own.  Those pics really do depict the intelligent, sensitive nature of them and the relationship with humans.

What a wonderful looking animal. I have always loved horses. I need to find some that I can photograph.
I love the first and last images. Is the first one a pony??

Really great Monday!!!

The first one is a 2 hour old colt. He will be a full sized horse.  I have about a million photos of him lol. And thank you as the last image, as you probably recognize, is me :D

It has always amazed me that a 1200 pound creature can be so gentle, trusting and loving.

It's always fascinating, and very telling to see what an individual loves.  It gives us a glimpse into that specific heart and shows color, depth and texture to the character.  I was around horses as a child, and I learned early on that those who resonate strongly with animals are generally very peaceful individuals deep within.  There are exceptions to this rule, of course, but for the most part, I find it to hold true.  Thank you for sharing a wee glimpse into who you are in your heart! :)

I love it when we settle in for the night in our big bed with our two dog childrren.  I turn out the light, and Little Liz snuggles up against my back.  What a comfort!

Gosh, I know what you mean. We have Rob Roy, a Westie (Love Bug 1) and Suzie, a Havanese (Love Bug 2). Life would not be the same without them. Then there's our brave Border Collie - brave until the thunder storms come poor guy.

Horses bring luck. :)
According to Chinese zodiac signs and all, I was born under the year of the Horse and I believe I'm lucky. :p
But I dunno how to ride horses. :p

Beautiful pictures! I think I told you before, about my childhood fantasy about horses. I always wanted to have one and it is so rare in the place I grew up. So it is still a fantasy!

You have some good tips on keeping the camera safe. Is it a bad idea to keep the camera inside the car when it is 100F outside?

Beauty pics of your family...two-legged and four-legged variety!! Have always found horses interesting but my contact with them has been very limited. As a kid I visited relatives in the country who owned many horses and they would let me feed them carrots, hay etc and it was the scariest thing because of those big white teeth LOL  I was always afraid that these huge beasts would bite my fingers off but survived I did . Thanks for reminding me of those terrifying days of the past :)

I love her - she is so gentle and keeps me safe on trail rides. She never acts up. :D

I didn't realize that about the Chinese zodiac sign. Very interesting.

I remember you said you liked horses and thought of you when I chose this.

Over 100F in the car - yes it can be bad to leave the camera, especially if it is direct sun. Over 120F is really bad. If you can, take it with you. I'll be doing a post in detail next week about what happens and how to protect your gear.

Mari Sterling Wilbur said...

Yes you may. Mica loves people and little kids especially.

Lol - sorry to remind you of bad memories. Horses teeth look huge, especially when you are little.
